Either a Nazi crew member of the Graf Spee painted this on this rock on the pier in Montevideo back when the crippled ship was here in 1939, or someone here has an odd sense of humor. How coincidental that I came across this just after reading Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. I wouldn't have recognized the significance otherwise.
